I wish I could search program schedules through the app. Without having to go to each stations sites. I may miss a program from my favorites and would love to see if it is playing somewhere else so I don't have to wait until the podcast is available.

Rehka:
Just checked out NPR Mobile. I was able to listen to an NPR story while I opened other APPs. (AP for example) -- just like listening to iPod! (Perhaps because NPR Mobile sends us to Safari to listen to the story?)
If "Mobile" can do this, why can't "Tuner"?
I do love this APP. I carry my iPhone with me all morning while I perform mindless household tasks.

Two requests. First: Background! I need to play mindless games or search the web or check out written news APPs while listening to "Tuner." Second: Phone & voicemail don't work when I'm tuned into "Tuner." Not even a record of missed calls. PLEASE fix these two issues.

While i've had the occasional love stream drop, my experience with the Edge network - at least in the metro Portland OR area - has been good. I listen on my bicycle, so I'm moving between cell sites - slowly. Maybe others are hitting limitations of their coverage area, and available streams from their NPR station?

Thanks for an app!

Deepak, Mark, and Phoebe J:
Glad you're enjoying the app. Apple restricts third party apps from running in the background the way iTunes does. We would love to be able to add that functionality, but right now it’s not allowed.

I love the NPR APP Public Radio Tuner, but it quits when I need to use other apps and I miss part of the broadcast. It should continue to run unless I am using the phone to make a call or some other app that requires sound

Great app, kudos to the dev team. Looking forward to version 2! I second the request to background the app. It would be great to listen to NPR while doing other things on the phone.
